Career Opportunities SITE FOREMAN Primary Function: 1. To erect and dismantle structures and marquees to the correct code of practice as instructed by the Operations Manager or Site Supervisors, making best use of banders and loading and stacking correctly. 2. To ensure that working practices on site comply with Snowdens safety policy rules and regulations. 3. Bearing in mind that particularly at the start of the season part of your erection crew will be untrained and new to the job, it will be your responsibility to ensure they are trained to an acceptable level, both in terms of handling equipment and safety procedures. If any crew do not come up to standards both in work rate and safety after initial training let the Operations Manager know. 4. To ensure that you and your crew approach the company’s clients politely and respectfully at all times. 5. To pace the workload of the job in hand so that it is completed on schedule, avoiding as far as possible uneven performance resulting in last minute panic. 6. Bearing in mind that the job often entails staying away, either on site or in accommodation, you will have responsibility for the discipline of your crews not only during but also outside working hours. If members of your crew are continually in breach of discipline you will be expected to report matters to the Operations Manager. 7. You will have overall responsibility for the cleanliness, tidiness and general good order of the vehicles made available for the transportation of you and your crew. Any faults or damage should be reported to the Operations Manager as soon as possible. 8. At times it will be necessary for you to work under the instruction of a colleague foreman, you must ensure that this happens without friction. 9. You will be responsible for recording accurately the time keeping of your crew whilst working on site and will report the times on a daily basis to the Operations Office, similarly mileage for the crew vehicles. 10. In certain weather conditions, the products are vulnerable and you will be expected on the rare occasions when it is necessary to turn out night or day, to ensure that the interests of all our clients, our employees and the company’s equipment are protected as much as is humanly possible. 11. To undertake maintenance or any other duties the Operations Manager may determine during any off-season or downturn period. STORES PERSON
Responsible for:¨ Stores including all its contents plus any tentage in storage.
Hire Stock Fittings ¨ Studying load lists and batching for collection. ¨ Re-shelving on return. ¨ Repairs where possible. ¨ Reporting major repairs to the Yard Manager. Filling out job tickets for workshop. ¨ Monitoring of stock levels to ensure no shortages by setting minimum stock levels with the Operations Manager. Tools¨ Issuing of tooling. Must be signed for at all times. ¨ Tracking of all tools as to what site they are on, who has got them and return dates at all times. ¨ Identification of all Snowdens tools by colour code and engraving. ¨ Monitoring safety of equipment (unsafe equipment to be repaired or reported to the Yard Manager and taken to workshop for immediate repair). ¨ Hire of tools at peak times where necessary ensuring return at the first possible date. Consumables¨ Sourcing and ordering specialist materials for contracts and general stock using our approved supplier list. ¨ Issuing of consumables using Requisition system. ¨ The allocation of consumable costs to a specific contract where appropriate. ¨ Monitoring stock levels and re-ordering as necessary. Setting and keeping minimum stock levels and re-order levels. General¨ Collect any tools or fittings that are in the yard and ensure they are returned to stores. ¨ Receive ALL deliveries and notify relevant staff. ¨ Issuing and monitoring of gas. ¨ General tidiness of stores and surrounding area. ¨ Storage and issuing of all first aid kits. ¨ Dry hire tents. ¨ Storage and issuing of Giulio Barbieri equipment.
